Biography
Randall A. Walsh
Custom Fir -Nature Tables
==================
Randall was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As one of four children to Swedish/Irish parents, he quickly learned to be self sufficient. He inherited a practical, strong work-ethic along with a mystical creative talent. His love of woodworking, drawing and music started as early as age five. After graduation from technical college, he has spent thirty years as an Thermal applications technician, and Musical performing artist.
This satisfied his early practical training, but, as an adult, Randall has also encouraged his creative self to emerge.
In the past several years he has reconnected with a magical talent for etched or pyrographic art on wood surfaces. Randall believes that his artistic approach to producing etched drawings on functional pieces of furniture, is based on lifetimes of loving to work with wood.
Randall melds "found" wood pieces together to produce a coffee table-top size piece of wood. From this point, he uses modern tools and pyro-graphic pens to produce his artwork on the finished wood surface.
Randall's expert artistic drawing skills have led to his being a pioneer in this unique style of etched drawings on wood furniture. Beginning in 1980, his early attempts produced games tables and home furnishings, but now, after reinventing his artistic approach in 2009,
Randall focuses primarily on table-top artwork.
Randall offers finished artwork for a client to choose from, but, he will also design a special piece specifically with them in mind and spirit.
